We have many posts on this website (and even two courses) on how to set up Google Analytics. Beyond our website, there are millions of resources on the internet on how to set up any analytics tool. But even if you follow all these steps, and do everything by the book, your analytics data is still wrong. Why? Unfortunately, no analytics tool is perfect. And in fact, analytics will never be perfect.

Let’s be honest. A lot of the data that you see in analytics programs (including GA4) is imprecise, but we present the results in exact numbers, as if it was precise. Visitors using ad blockers, consent management systems, privacy-focused browsers — all of these technologies contribute to imprecise analytics. How can you change your reporting to reflect this lack of precision in your data? One small step you can take right now is to start using round numbers in your reporting.
