1 INTRODUCTION Human hypertrophic scars (HSs) frequently arise following severe skin trauma. Characterised by an abnormal accumulation of extracellular matrix (ECM), these scars often lead to both aesthetic deformities and functional impairments and can pose a significant clinical challenge.1-4 Although there are many modalities to treat HSs, the effectiveness of these methods is limited, especially for scars resulting from larger burn areas.
