A bipolar porphyrin molecule for stable dual-ion symmetric batteries with high potential
A bipolar porphyrin molecule for stable dual-ion symmetric batteries with high potential Ping Gao, Youlian Zeng, Jiarong Zhou, jiahao Zhang, Yao Liao, Caihong Sun, Yachao Su and Songting Tan Abstract A small molecule, 5,15-di(thiophen-2-yl) porphyrin, is reported as new electrode for dual-ion symmetric organic batteries. It delivers a capacity of 150 mAh g-1 at 0.2 A g-1 with a high voltage of 2.7 V. Up to 1500 cycles are achieved for a full cell.
Nanoparticle-modified microrobots for in vivo antibiotic delivery to treat acute bacterial pneumonia - Nature Materials
Abstract Bioinspired microrobots capable of actively moving in biological fluids have attracted considerable attention for biomedical applications because of their unique dynamic features that are otherwise difficult to achieve by their static counterparts. Here we use click chemistry to attach antibiotic-loaded neutrophil membrane-coated polymeric nanoparticles to natural microalgae, thus creating hybrid microrobots for the active delivery of antibiotics in the lungs in vivo.

Organotropic Targeting of Biomimetic Nanoparticles to Treat Lung Disease
Active targeting strategies aimed at improving drug homing while reducing systemic toxicity are widely being pursued in the growing field of nanomedicine. While they can be effective, these approaches often require the identification of cell-specific targets and in-depth knowledge of receptor binding interactions. More recently, there has been significant interest in biomimetic nanoformulations capable of replicating the properties of naturally occurring systems.

Genetically engineered cell membrane-coated nanoparticles for targeted delivery of dexamethasone to inflamed lungs
Abstract As numerous diseases are associated with increased local inflammation, directing drugs to the inflamed sites can be a powerful therapeutic strategy. One of the common characteristics of inflamed endothelial cells is the up-regulation of vascular cell adhesion molecule–1 (VCAM-1). Here, the specific affinity between very late antigen–4 (VLA-4) and VCAM-1 is exploited to produce a biomimetic nanoparticle formulation capable of targeting inflammation.
Targeted gene silencing in vivo by platelet membrane-coated metal-organic framework nanoparticles
RESULTS AND DISCUSSION To encapsulate siRNA within the nanoscale MOFs, a modified in situ biomineralization method was used (21, 22). Specifically, siRNA was first premixed with 2-methylimidazole, followed by addition of a solution containing zinc ions, initiating the ZIF-8 self-assembly process and causing the solution to become turbid. The resulting siRNA-loaded MOF (MOF-siRNA) nanoparticles were then allowed to mature in solution for several hours.
Cellular Nanosponges Inhibit SARS-CoV-2 Infectivity
The emergence of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) has caused an outbreak of coronavirus disease (COVID-19), and the pandemic has unfolded into a severe global public health crisis.(1,2) Remdesivir is currently the most advanced antiviral drug for COVID-19 treatment, which received an emergency-use authorization in the United States for patients with severe disease, but the mortality benefit is unproven.(3) The search for new drugs requires a clear understanding of...
