Abstract Given the escalating global climate change, agriculture, which is a significant source of greenhouse gas emissions, has attracted widespread attention for its carbon footprint. Based on agricultural carbon emission data from 31 provinces in China from 2006 to 2024, this study first quantified agricultural carbon emissions using the carbon emission factor method. Based on the STIRPAT theoretical framework, identify the key influencing factors of agricultural carbon emissions.
