It makes the public act as consumers and deliverers of news, which can be a good thing and a bad thing at the same time.
What does it mean to be a journalist?
Telling the great big story with truth and ethics with a sprinkle of humor thrown in.
How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?
Send a very basic pitch letter, via email, that explains the 5ws of your story. Do not send anything that appeared in other major pubs.
What tools and software do you use to do your job?
MS word, Wordpress, Skype Call Recorder,

Facebook.

It was an accident.

The flash mob story was a blast to pull together. Even more proud that it made the cover pages of Sunday Styles.

Don't work for free.

Anytime but if you're looking to pitch to monthly magazines, you should think ahead 6 months for the lead time.
