The Prime Day Kids’ Deals I’m Adding to Cart
Prime Day came early this year, and I’m not ready. I have strong Midwest Coupon Mom tendencies, so I typically use the annual summer sales event — and the attendant frenzy it sets off at competing retailers — to prepare for upcoming family vacations and start buying whatever my kids need for back to school. But right now they’re barely three weeks into summer break, so I’ll be relying on the Strategist even more than usual to get myself sorted. A few more Prime Day kids’ deals I’m eyeing so far:

Earlier this week, Tembe Denton-Hurst and I chatted through some edits on her exosome skin-care explainer. She found that there were perhaps some risks to using these micro-messenger vesicles as an ingredient on your skin, but she hadn’t quite pinned them down in her writing yet. That was because, she said, developers of exosome skin care hadn’t either. They don’t really, truly know what exosomes are and what’s in them (DNA is the biggest question mark).

New York Magazine Wins National Magazine Awards for General Excellence and Photography
Photo: ASME Yesterday, New York Magazine received the National Magazine Awards for General Excellence, the night’s top honor, and for Photography. This was the magazine’s first General Excellence win since 2016 and the first under editor-in-chief David Haskell. He accepted the awards — a pair of Alexander Calder–designed elephant trophies — at a ceremony in New York City, bringing the magazine’s creative director, Jody Quon, onstage with him to accept the Photography award.
