Interview
What was your first job as a journalist?
My high school newspaper. I wrote a couple of articles involving women's rights in my last year of High School.
How is social media changing news?
While social media makes news more readily available and reaches those who might not otherwise, it also sensationalizes stories.
Who's your favorite fictional journalist?
How can you not love the wacky, endearing blunders of Bridget Jones? She may not always be perfect, nor tactful but she certainly is honest.
What's your favorite social network?
While Twitter provides the easiest platform to connect with like minded people, I favour the creative aspects that Instagram allows me.
Why did you become a journalist?
I became a journalist because I wanted to share not just my own stories, but the stories of the people who might not be able to.
When's the best time to pitch you?
Anytime!
What's the most common misperception about your beat?
I find that people do not fully understand the complexity, and layers that can go into film, and movies, particularly "Block Busters"
