An Evening with Chuck Dunlap - 1600 KUSH
Chuck Dunlap plays at The Old Church in Perkins, OK. On January 17, 2026, Chuck Dunlap played at The Old Church in Perkins. If you’ve never been to a concert at The Old Church, you’re truly missing out. The intimacy and reverence of the sanctuary fills the place with a holy presence, and the warmth, love, and joy it has cultivated within its walls for over a century adds a unique energy to any musician’s act.
It all finally makes sense
Hindsight 20/20 and all that...now it all makes sense. In the summer of 2021 I was in a massive slump over the she-narc that cheated on me, accused me of rape to save face with her family, and dropped me like a lead brick when I found it all out. It was the darkest time in my life and then some. I got thru it. First of all, my boss walked in one day and lowered his head until I could see the anger in his eyes. He pointed at me and said "GET SOME HELP".
Putting someone first
Is that a bad thing? I'm 2 1/2 years into what was the best adult relationship I've ever had. Now a friend of hers is saying I'm controlling by always being so kind. I have the confidence (for now) of a bad-boy/a-hole but not the delivery. That's just not me. I hope being the good guy will eventually be recognized by someone as an asset and not a liability. I'm not a pro photog, but I shoot alot. I've shot 400+ frames in the last month of her boy who just graduated high school.
One baby boy, two moms, and 30+ years of wondering...
Sometime in the early sixties a naive little gal named Juanita from Carthage MO met a cab driver. She was just cute enough that he pursued her. She was 21, he was 37. (He had a habit of finding women much younger than himself). They eventually married. It did not take long for this young woman to find out what an ass this man was. Once he was married he took charge and ruled the roost. She was made into a servant immediately. This was not her fairy tale dream at all, but a nightmare she never asked for.
The Abandoned (2006) Film Review - Abandon All Hope
The Abandoned is a 2006 horror thriller, written and directed by Nacho Cerdá with additional writing from Karim Hussain and Richard Stanley. Mostly known as a director of shorts and documentaries, The film is the only feature-length title written and directed by the Spanish filmmaker. Karim is most notable as a cinematographer, working on such titles as Infinity Pool (2023), Orphan: First Kill (2022), and Possessor (2020) to name a few.
Top 15 Snuff Films - Diamonds In The Snuff
The generally agreed definition of a snuff film is a real (not staged) filmed murder. In some cases, it is viewed for the purpose of sexual arousal. However, this is somewhat incorrect, as by this definition, any video depicting the death of a person, purposeful or accidental, can fall under this moniker depending on the viewer.
Destiny of Desire: a trip down memory lane
The performance of Destiny of Desire, in which Karen Zacarías amazingly transforms the stage into a time machine in which the viewer travels back in time to relive family times in front of the television, causes the audience to experience a swing of emotions and memories. And there was a time when watching soap operas on television was an excellent excuse to spend time with the family.
Tackling Your Yearly Fishing Tackle Maintenance
View Gallery Now’s the time to do some spring cleaning and basic maintenance on your rods, reels, tackle box, and other equipment. By Jim Cox As fishermen, it doesn’t take temperatures warming much at all this time of year for us to start saying we’re ready for an offshore trip. And while we may be ready, is our tackle ready? Did you get your reels serviced at the end of the last fishing season so you’re indeed set for this year’s first voyage? If you didn’t, you’re not alone.

And when the pandemic hit, people started looking for more ways to spend time outdoors, which drove even more boat sales.

Ask KPBS/Arts: How Can I Snap Out Of My Post Election Haze?
Welcome to Ask KBPS/Arts, a new feature that answers your questions about how to navigate the many arts events happening in San Diego. To get things started, I'll begin with something people have been asking me as I've been out and about the last few days: how can I recover from the election madness? There are several good ways to do this depending on what kind of escapism you're after.
Notes From Steve Martin's Conversation At The Globe
If there's such a thing as theater best friends, then the Old Globe's Barry Edelstein and celebrity Steve Martin are one of the most charming examples of it. The two men have collaborated on everything from big musicals ("Bright Star") to obscure German productions ("The Underpants"). And now they're together again for "Meteor Shower," a small play that examines marriage.
KPBS/Arts Three-Line Review: 'Macbeth'
Don't have time to read long reviews? KPBS/Arts tells you all you need to know in three lines. The moment you step into the Old Globe's outdoor theater and see bandaged soldiers laying in beds (before the show even begins), you know this isn't a traditional staging of "Macbeth." The brutal tale instead opens in a sterile hospital where soldiers recover from battles, and where patients recite the lines usually reserved for the prophesizing witches.
5 Behind-The-Scenes Tidbits From The Old Globe's 'Rain'
The Old Globe is getting ready to launch another world premiere show this month. And this one's particularly special because it's the first time Globe Artistic Director Barry Edelstein is directing a musical. "Rain," running March 24 through May 1, 2016, is a musical adapted from Somerset Maugham's classic short story about two traveling couples - the Davidsons and the MacPhails. The couples get stranded in Pago-Pago, American Samoa, due to a measles outbreak on their ship.

Topical advice about topics, redux
In my last post, I talked about why SAS utilizes a rotated Singular Value Decomposition (SVD) approach for topic generation, rather than using Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA). I noted that LDA has undergone a variety of improvements in the last seven years since SAS opted to use the SVD method. So, the time has come to ask: How well does the rotated SVD approach hold up with these modern LDA variations? For the purpose of this comparison, we used the HCA implementation of LDA models.
Topical advice about topics: comparing two topic generation methods
When I talk with more analytically savvy users of SAS® Text Miner or SAS® Contextual Analysis, I inevitably get asked questions about why SAS uses a completely different approach to topic generation than anybody else and why should they trust the approach SAS adopts? These are good questions. I first addressed them back in 2010 in a three-part series of blog posts titled The Whats, Whys, and Wherefores of Topic Management.
Speaking the same language in SAS® Text Analytics
The first text analytics product SAS® released to the market in 2002 was SAS® Text Miner to enable SAS® users to extract insights from unstructured data in addition to structured data. In 2009, in quick succession SAS® released two new products: SAS® Enterprise Content Categorization and SAS® Sentiment Analysis.
Globe's 'The Twenty-Seventh Man' Finds Inspiration In Soviet History
For the Old Globe’s new production of "The Twenty-seventh Man," playwright Nathan Englander found inspiration in an incident known as the Night of the Murdered Poets that took place under Stalin’s regime. The seed for “The Twenty-Seventh Man” was planted years ago in Nathan Englander’s head when a professor made an offhanded remark about a group of Yiddish writers imprisoned and executed by Stalin in the 1950s.
