Masters of the Universe Review: Same Tired Joke & Zero Character Development

(WEHT) – Masters of the Universe offers the same tired joke, bad action sequences, a cheesy, cliched plot, and absolutely no character development – although, some of that might be intentional. Directed by Travis Knight, Masters of the Universe stars Nicholas Galitzine, Camila Mendes, Idris Elba, Jared Leto, and Alison Brie. It tells the story of Prince Adam, alternatively known as He-Man, who is exiled to Earth from Eternia.

I Love Boosters Review: Anti-Capitalism & Absurdist Comedy

I Love Boosters is an absurdist comedy with its thesis on its sleeve: it’s an anti-capitalist, anti-corporate polemic, and while it should be admired for its audacity, the film won’t work for all audiences. Directed by Boots Riley, I Love Boosters stars Keke Palmer and Naomi Ackie as two professional shoplifters who target a wealthy fashion designer played by Demi Moore. The entire point of I Love Boosters is to essentially take pot shots at capitalism, using broad, absurdist comedy.
