Jimmy Alvarez’s Biography

Jimmy Alvarez is the Chief Executive Officer at OC Music News. He is based in Orange County, California. During his tenure OCMN has developed a nationwide footprint, with some coverage in the UK.

Professionally, Alvarez is a published author; before landing at OCMN, he was a long-time columnist at OC Weekly and other music magazines such as Vibe, Rock Culture, The Alternative Rock Experience and Smash Magazine.

On July 9th, 2025, Alvarez became a professional member of the National Academy of Recording Artists / Grammys.

Alvarez also has an extended tenure in the broadcasting industry. He is currently an Executive Producer and On-Air Personality at TNN RADIO / KX FM - iHeart. Before landing at TNN / KXFM, he worked at KROQ FM in Los Angeles (late '80's to mid '90s) with short stints at Groove Radio and the American Broadcast Network (early 2000's).

Alvarez currently resides in Orange County, California. He really does have Arachnophobia and plays mean finger symbols and considered an expert at shredding with the "Atari X25 Rhythm Guitar."
