Deco x50 mesh with sky - iPhone some websites not loading
I have 3 deco x50's setup with the deco mesh as as an access point. WiFi turned off on 2.4 and 5ghz in sky router. All sky boxes have wifi off and are wired into a deco. For this most part all works ok but when browsing on iPhones some websites just don't load. Avforums as an example, I have to turn wi fi off to load it. Apple TV is wired in via Ethernet cable but some apps work swift but iPlayer and Amazon prime video struggle. Speedtest app on Apple TV and iPhone fail to load.

75"+ tv under £2k for very bright room
Need to upgrade to larger screen in our extension which is an extremely bright room in the summer as it's south facing. Currently we have an LG C3 55, the first curved 3d iteration not the newer version and even that can struggle with the brightness sometimes Want at least 75, looking at the 77 c5 at the moment but will consider alternatives if they are better for the room. Needs to have Dolby atmos passthrough to connect to a Sonos arc ultra and at least 3 HDMI ports
Mass shootings in the US
JimmyMac Distinguished Member #1 The deadliest US school massacre since Sandy Hook almost a decade ago was reportedly ended when a lone Border Patrol officer went into the Uvalde school without back-up and shot dead killer Salvador Ramos. news.sky.com Tragic, when will things change! #2 #3 Awful news, I seen a breaking news story about twenty minutes ago where it said two children were dead and 12 injured. It looks like the gunman is now dead as well. Rodney: "Trig, why do you call me Dave?
Sonos Arc ultra or alternative?
We are just in the process of finishing our extension and will be moving the tv into that area, tv upgrade is to come, currently its an LG C6 (bought in 2017) My current setup has a yamaha ysp 2200 but want to get something new now, I can't have rear speakers so needs to be standalone soundbar which can give decent bass or soundbar and separate bass.
Which fence paint do you recommend?
Hi, I recently moved house, and for the first time, I have a garden fence to paint. Which brand/type is well recommended, please (I’m looking in the cheap-ish to Mid-range bracket, and not the super expensive stuff that I’ve seen like £40 a tub)? For example, I’m looking at the Ronseal stuff which gets very mixed reviews on B&Q’s site. Is there actually any difference to quality between the dearer lasting “5 years” types to the more regular 1-2 years? Thanks!
Jimmy Mac's extension thread!
So we've lived in our current house for about 12 years and talked about doing an extension for a long time. If nothing else we wanted to demolish the conservatory and turn it into a proper room. Finally however we have bit the bullet and decided to push the whole house out single story to the rear.
Ban Best Driver from Driving Best Car?
Is it a good idea or not to set up a rule that stops the drivers who have won the most races in each of the most recent 5 years from being allowed to start the next season in the cars of the team that has won the most races. The thinking is that best driver + best car = season ruined as nobody else will ever win anything.
Young Guns 3 (TBC)
#1 Tweet from Fusco Emilio Estevez and I are excited to be collaborating on this continuation of the Billy the Kid saga - and you’re going to love where it goes. Games that left you with an emotional attachment
Interesting one for me this, and something that I had food for thought in as I'm in the middle of playing ff vii rebirth. So what game has left you with a real emotional attachment/lasting thoughts for whatever reason? Ff vii always got to me as story, however it's ffx and x-2 that really got me more emotionally than vii did.
Fall Into a Good Book
This weekend we're calling both days "Fall into a Good Book." We do a variation on this topic about twice a year. It gives you a chance to let us know what you're reading these days and to make recommendations to your fellow travelers in literary life. The topic is not limited to genre. Fiction, non-fiction, history, science, politics, how-to, self-help, cookbooks, and any other book that you've made the time to read is fair game for a phone call.
Babies... Does it get better?
essgee Established Member #1 I'm not really sure why I'm posting this but I have a 3 month old son and I find myself almost wishing I never had him. I'm struggling with my health and the sleep deprivation and crying in the evenings when I get back from work are just breaking me. I lost my own dad before christmas and running a small business working 6o hours a week just isn't gelling with a small child. The stress has made me physically ill and I cannot seem to get my body back in a normal state.

The Jinx - The Life & Deaths of Robert Durst
#1 I have just been blown away by this documentary series. "Filmmaker Andrew Jarecki examines the complicated life of reclusive real estate icon, Robert Durst, the key suspect in a series of unsolved crimes." The Jinx: The Life and Deaths of Robert Durst (TV Mini-Series 2015) - IMDb If you do not know anything about the backstory - I urge you to keep it that way (DO NOT READ ANYTHING ON THE INTERNET ABOUT IT). Lock yourself away and binge watch this extraordinary docu-series.
Favourite Movie Weapons
Roohster Distinguished Member #1 A year or two ago there was a really good thread about everyone's favourite space ships, (it's still available here if anyone missed it: Favourite space ships) ...so I thought it might be fun to see what everyone would pick for their Favourite Movie Weapons. I'll start the ball rolling with these two classics: Blain's M134, "Old Painless", and the legendary Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch from Monty Python and The Holy Grail.
What films made you turn them off within minutes???
Deleted member 879184 Guest #1 Have you ever walked out of the cinema? What movies could you not even make past the 10 minute mark? Now I kinda like a silly comedy every now and then, hey I’m all for Big Mommas House! But I had to draw the line at sextuplets. This is the worst attempt at comedy I’ve ever seen.
CyberPunk 2077 - 10 December 2020
Our Year Outstanding Member #1 CD Projekt RED were spotted looking for new recruits to work on an entirely new and different RPG recently. A list of job roles next to an icon of a gun was all we had to go on, until now. Blues News have a teaser image trailing a big reveal at CD Projekt REDs summer conference tomorrow. It will be live streamed on CD Projekts Facebook page and The Witcher site at 5pm GMT / 10am PST / 1pm EST. The teaser image has a powerful whiff of William Gibson to it.
Taylor Swift : The Eras Tour (13th October 2023)
Drax1 Outstanding Member #1 The upcoming concert film Taylor Swift : The Eras, is proving an unexpectedly big hit, and that's just pre-sales tickets. It's now nearly double that of Star Wars : The Force Awakens for the first 24 hours. As a result, various movies are changing their release dates including the new Exorcist film.
The 46th President Joe Biden
Marv Distinguished Member #1 Time to start that Biden thread... All post © Marv 2004 #2 I may have started this thread as a joke. Hope you are OK with that @Marv? My opinions are my own and do not represent those of the AVForums or its associated websites. #3 This could be quite a bland thread. Let’s see.... Does highlight, why does it take so long to switch presidents? Takes forever to count and then they add more delay into the system.

Trampoline, safe, collapsible
#1 So the time has come to look for a trampoline for the daughter, 8 years old and a friend up the road has one. I can see here from the window and she is having an absolute ball there and I figure that maybe we should look at getting one. I've always been averse due to the sheer amount of injuries but it would be decent exercise for her and I know many of them come with lots of protective safety features.

What age do you give a child a phone?
#1 My daughter is 8 now and I’ve always been really sure that I would wait a few more years yet before she gets a phone. She has an iPad which she can watch videos on and also do her school apps but no messaging on it. due to the lockdown we gave her access to FaceTime as she had to keep in touch with friends. now a fair few of her friends have phones and are messaging, now my daughter is asking and she’s a bit like the odd one out I suppose times have changes somewhat and I’m starting to relent.

Captain Tom Moore
#1 I’m sure we have all seen captain Tom Moore and his plan to raise £1000 before his 100th birthday for the nhs on his sponsored walk and how it’s gone crazy Help Captain Tom Moore raise money to support NHS Charities Together www.justgiving.com This is better out of the corona forum up to over £9million now, absolutely brilliant and is a great example of how people have come together through this some have called for a knighthood which would be a nice touch but I love the idea of people...

Xpert 11 - surviving without real football
#1 Ok folks xpert -11 is a free online footy manager game. Pretty simple to play and doesn’t use real teams or players so you don’t get some gthat somehow ends up with all the greatest players and wipes the floor with everyone it’s been about 5 years since I played it but we had a league going for around 8 years on another forum and it’s was good fun.
How to use alcohol hand gels
#1 Following on from many posts and in light of the current situation I thought this thread would be of use. We are told that during this outbreak we need to wash our hand or use hand rubs. However one of the biggest failings we have is people do not truly know how we should use hand rubs. A huge amount of people will miss large portions of the hands and may as well not bother.

#1 I need some help editing a photo I want to take a picture of my daughter reading her book and put her into different backgrounds, i'm useless at this kind of thing, can I ask an expert if I can PM the picture can they cut out my daughter so I can then place her into different environments? Cancer support thread
#1 Searched to see if there was anything like this but didn’t spot anything, apologies if there is one and please merge if I missed it. there's a few threads here for various issues but this is a big one, one that sadly hits far too many of us these days!! So my mum told my brother and myself last week that she had found a lump in her breast that was being investigates.
2019 i5 iMac... Is it enough!?
#1 I dropped £2.5k on a top tier iMac 27” that has the fastest i5 chip, but immediately started the obligatory panicking that it wouldn’t be powerful enough for my needs. I’m a professional Graphic/Web Designer and both laptops I currently have are i7’s, but conventional wisdom suggests this is overkill for my needs - I work mostly in Sketch, Illustrator in Photoshop. I do work with some video in After Effects and would like to learn it deeper (mostly for animation).

Sci fi/space opera recommendations
JimmyMac Distinguished Member #1 I almost exclusively read/listen to sci fi books with Alastair Reynolds being my favourite author. I've done his back catalogue and done the classic Asimov/Clarke novels. Also enjoyed Peter f Hamilton's commonwealth saga and whilst I would like to try some of his others there seems to be a bit of a "medieval" twist in some of them that's not my thing Done Iain banks too, enjoyed all the culture novels So based on my choices where do I go next?
Adventure Games
JimmyMac Distinguished Member #1 I know I have asked this before but looking for more suggestions now of adventure games I might have missed.
General cricket chat
JimmyMac Distinguished Member #1 Didn't see anything like this on a quick browse on the app So a couple of enthral long ODI's between England and New Zealand but the talking point today has got to be the duckworth Lewis method. A seemingly insurmountable NZ lead was looking on until the rain came.
