Prime Minister Mark Carney released a triumphant — and chilling — social media post at the moment of his big agreement with Alberta Premier Danielle Smith. “Today’s agreement between Canada and Alberta will diversify our exports, reduce our emissions, and give investors the certainty they need to build,” Carney’s post read, accompanied by a video of the two leaders signing their agreement to build a new pipeline to the West Coast. The only sound in the 10-second video is applause.
