James Barrett’s Biography
I’m a freelance journalist with a focus in (but not exclusive to) features, travel, entertainment, personal essays and lifestyle. I'm a generalist, and I believe that's a good thing. I started writing because I wanted to tell stories that I can't find anywhere else on the internet.
I’ve had opportunities to interview public figures such as Chance the Rapper at the White House, Taye Diggs (on the right) on Lake Mead and Candace Cameron Bure at the Little League World Series.
As a Syracuse grad, I come from a creative advertising background so from a marketing perspective I see the big picture. I love interviewing talent and doing a lot of research to tell a compelling story.
And so I can stop talking about myself, I believe my work ultimately speaks for itself. It’s a very diverse array of work (so far) showing how versatile I am no matter the assignment or topic.
