A surprise mention of Gwen Graham as Democratic candidate for governor David Jolly’s would-be running mate surfaced at a Tallahassee church during Sunday service, even as Jolly's campaign remains silent on any decision. The Rev. Dr. R.B. Holmes, pastor of the historic Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, introduced Graham – daughter of the late Democratic Florida Gov. and U.S. Sen. Bob Graham and a former Tallahassee congresswoman.

Wakulla County wildfire forces resident evacuations Original

June 5, 2026, 5:39 p.m. ET Local residents were being evacuated as a quick-moving wildfire threatened Wakulla County in the area of Spring Hill Road, Seaboard Drive and Mill Circle. The news was shared June 5 by the Wakulla County Sheriff's Office and U.S. Forest Service. Sheriff’s deputies, Wakulla County Fire Rescue, and U.S. Forestry firefighters were on scene, they said, advising people to "avoid the area." "The fire started on private property and is now estimated at approximately 60 acres.

Tallahassee crash blocks lanes on Interstate 10

June 5, 2026, 4:24 p.m. ET A crash at Interstate 10 and Capital Circle in Tallahassee has snarled traffic, closing all but one lane on the highway and backing up travelers. A Florida 511 alert said, "... all SB lanes are blocked. Use caution and seek alternate route." No other information was available. A spokesperson for the Florida Highway Patrol referred questions to local law enforcement; requests for information are pending. Meantime, drivers are advised to avoid I-10 till further notice.
