The demographic data of the patients are shown in Table 1. We retrospectively collected preoperative enhanced MR images of lumbosacral FTEs and cauda equina schwannomas treated surgically at the Second Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University between 2013 and 2021. Considering intraspinal tumours in the lumbosacral spinal canal, there was a greater incidence of schwannomas in males than in females; otherwise, there was a greater incidence of ependymomas (p < 0.05).
