A cross-sectional study was carried out in twenty communities/villages spanning ten streets/towns. A total of 1215 patients aged 35–75 years, who had primary and poorly controlled hypertension based on two or more consecutive measurements, were recruited for follow-up from January to August 2021. These patients were referred by their primary care physician for the management of uncontrolled hypertension and had been taking antihypertensive medications for at least one year.
