Hypertension as an independent risk factor for severity and mortality in patients with COVID-19: a retrospective study
Outcomes In table 2, among the 736 patients with COVID-19, a total of 32 patients died (mortality 4.3%), including 17 out of 220 in the hypertension group (7.7%) and 15 out of 516 in the non-hypertension group (2.9%, p=0.003). After PSM, there was still a statistically significant difference in mortality between the hypertension and non-hypertension groups (p=0.006). The hypertension group had a higher mortality rate than the non-hypertension group.
