What was your first job as a journalist?
My first professional job outside of editor of my college paper was a gig working as a community journalist for The Detroit News.

Louis Bloom from Nightcrawler and Ron Burgundy from Anchorman. Sorry but they tie for me.

Why did you become a journalist?
I wanted to impact the community be telling stories from the perspective of an underserved group of people.
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
I have written so many stories that I can't pinpoint one that I'm most proud of. I am more touched by sources and I carry their stories.
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
People before stories.
