The Mining Injustice Solidarity Network organized a protest in front of the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada (PDAC) convention in Toronto, in March 2020. In 2024, Canadian companies were present in 95 foreign countries, largely out of sight and out of mind for most Canadians. If Canadians could see some of those mines and the poverty, pollution and misery around them, they might decide not to emblazon their luggage and clothing with the red maple leaf when they travel abroad.
