Gonioscopy-Assisted Transluminal Trabeculotomy Using Retroillumination

We describe a transscleral retroillumination technique to better distinguish the trabecular meshwork during gonioscopy-assisted transluminal trabeculotomy (GATT) when direct visualization is challenging due to interposed media opacities, such as corneal edema. An endoillumination probe is positioned outside the anterior chamber and approximated to the sclera opposite the main corneal incision.
