Speed has overtaken accuracy as the default metric. In M&A, that creates real problems — a rumoured deal can move markets before anyone has verified a term sheet exists. The journalists who add value are the ones who slow down enough to get the structure right.
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
Our 2026 M&A research report on AI-driven transaction frameworks. It maps how machine learning is reshaping deal sourcing, due diligence, and valuation across digital M&A — and where human judgment still determines outcomes. It is the most rigorous piece of original research we have published at Acquiry.
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Cover deals, not press releases. The most valuable M&A stories are in the structure — who is buying, why now, and what the capital stack reveals about where an industry is heading. Primary sources beat wire copy every time.
