CASA GRANDE — Casa Palomino Mexican Restaurant officially opened its doors with a red ribbon-cutting ceremony hosted by the Casa Grande Chamber of Commerce & Tourism Office on June 15. The new restaurant, owned by Tony and Dionne Palomino, is located in the former Eva’s restaurant space at 665 N. Pinal Ave. downtown. Prior to the ribbon cutting, Mayor Lisa Navarro Fitzgibbons congratulated the Palominos on their opening day.

CG council approves AC for animal shelter

CASA GRANDE — Animals housed at the city’s Animal Care and Adoption Center will soon benefit from a new air-conditioning system after councilmembers unanimously approved a $429,741 contract with Core Construction for facility improvements. The upgrades include new air conditioning and LED kennel lighting, which will be procured through a cooperative contract with the city of Peoria.

CASA GRANDE — The final chapter of a successful graduation season for the Casa Grande Union High School District was completed June 12 when a summer graduation ceremony was held at the Vista Grande High School auditorium. CGUHSD Superintendent Jeff Lavender was joined by board members Micah Powell, Carrie Jordan and President Pro Tem Kelly Herrington.
