Increasingly more information is leaking out that Minnesota Wild GM Bill Guerin is seeking a Top-6 forward. With impactful forwards in slumps like Matt Boldy and the lack of offensive production from rookie Marco Rossi, the secondary scoring punch has been reduced to a few jabs here and there. Therefore, Guerin would be wise to make a move before Minnesota’s lack of scoring keeps it down in the standings.

Like clockwork, my proposal for a Thanksgiving Article, “Patrick Reusse’s Turkey of the Year, By Tony Abbott” was rejected once again. And the problem with Pardoning the Biggest Turkeys In Minnesota Wild History last year is, you can really only do that once. Or at least, you have to wait until there’s more Wild History, which doesn’t replenish in a year. Luckily, Minnesota’s stepped up in a big way.

At its core, hockey is about two things: putting the puck in the net and keeping it out of your own. The Minnesota Wild aren’t particularly good at either this season. So far, their scoring rate is 2.62 goals per hour in all situations, 28th in the league. Their 2.89 goals surrendered per hour is 12th in the NHL. Still, they’re underwater in the big picture. Ryan Reaves isn’t helping with that.
