Liverpool defender Joe Gomez said his return to the England squad for the first time in three-and-a-half years has closed the chapter on an injury-hit period of his career which took a "psychological toll". Gomez has been rewarded for a fine season at club level with a return to the international scene just in time to potentially go to his first major tournament at Euro 2024.

A Long Island man was hit and killed by a pickup truck overnight. The incident took place in Suffolk County around 9:20 p.m., Monday, March 3 in Nesconset. Suffolk County Police detectives are investigating the crash that killed Paul Harrison, age 54, of Hauppauge when his scooter was struck by a 2018 Dodge Ram driven traveling westbound on Route 347 at the intersection of Southern Boulevard. Harrison was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
