The textile industry has learned a lot from nature. Take sheep, for example. By surviving bitterly cold weather conditions, they have demonstrated the excellent insulating properties of wool. The lotus plant is equally as resourceful, possessing a built-in mechanism that naturally keeps it clean; while pine cones react to their environment by naturally closing in wet weather and opening in dry conditions.

I was picking up my number at Wildwood Crest Recreation Center for the beach race on Heather Road when I remembered that I had done this 30 years ago in the same town, but about a half mile south at Rambler Road for the 75th anniversary celebration of Wildwood Crest.
