Buckeye lands massive manufacturing megasite

A 2,500-acre industrial campus is being positioned as one of the largest development opportunities in the West Valley, with projections showing Grand View Arizona could generate more than $1 billion in economic impact for Buckeye and the surrounding region. JLL’s Phoenix office announced this week it will market Grand View Arizona, a fully entitled, infrastructure-ready megasite in Buckeye.

Bitten Councilmember recounts rattlesnake attack

A Town of Marana councilmember is recovering at home after a western diamondback rattlesnake bit him without warning last week. The incident sent him to the emergency room for a night in intensive care and 20 vials of anti-venom. Patrick Cavanaugh, who has served on the Marana Town Council, was tidying up his side yard in the Marana area on the evening of May 5 when he reached down to move a board and came within striking distance of a roughly 2-foot rattlesnake.

Crash results in fatality, officer injured

One passenger is dead, and two others were seriously injured in a pair of related crashes over the weekend, police said. A Glendale police officer was also injured, but they were not life threatening. Leading up to the incident, the officer spotted a wrong-way driver.
