A 4.0 earthquake was felt across Greater Victoria just after 4:00am this morning. The earthquake struck in Haro Strait just west of San Juan Island. According to the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), the quake hit at a depth of 52 kilometres. CHEK News was contacted by several people saying they felt the quake. One person writing, “my bed shooke with what I think could have only been an earthquake!” There are also reports of people feeling shaking as far north as Duncan and in Vancouver, BC.
