(Bloomberg) -- KKR & Co. has made a takeover offer of about $9 billion for natural gas and electricity distributor UGI Corp., according to the Wall Street Journal. The private equity giant offered $42.50 a share for the Pennsylvania-based company, the Journal said, citing anonymous sources. UGI’s stock closed at $35.09 on Monday, giving the utility a market value of around $7.53 billion. UGI shares surged as much as 14% Tuesday.
