Articles by Joel Weir
for the first and last, by Yellow6
about Yellow6 Leicester, UK Yellow6 is the solo project of British guitarist Jon Attwood. Yellow6 has at times been described as post-rock, minimalist, electronica, ambient… the reality is that Yellow6 has some similarity with each of those genres but is not so easily definable, using aspects of drone, repetition, melody, harmony, noise and silence to create absorbing soundscapes to drift off into. ... more

Not alone in our losses
What do you say to someone who has suffered a great loss? This is a question all of us face at some point in our lives. It’s certainly a question pastors, chaplains and anyone whose work focuses on offering consolation to the broken-hearted encounter regularly. As a trained disaster/crisis chaplain I have been deployed twice this summer to try to offer some help, some hope among those who have suffered great loss.

We are currently living through a time where tension seems to be increasing on many fronts, where extremes are being embraced, out of fear, and where there is a great uncertainty about the future. I’ve been upset, angry and sad, but more than anything, I think right now I’m just weary.
Strive to enlarge your heart
I recently had to travel by plane to a church conference. Anyone who has been in an airport, especially since 9/11 knows about the high focus on security. In airports this focus is not just in the hands of the TSA workers and law enforcement, but there is also an expectation that everyone be vigilant and aware of anything suspicious.
