Although various models have been created to understand T2D, reconstructing the tissue-specific microenvironment and complications of T2D remain difficult.

Abstract : Central obesity is one of the major risk factors for type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM), and the most common complication of DM is diabetic retinopathy. However, the exact relationship between obesity and DR remains unknown. In this study, we evaluate the effect of obesity on DR by comparing the aqueous humor-derived adipokines. For the analysis, 37 DR patients and 29 non-DR-patients participated.
