On June 3, U.S. Rep. Andy Ogles put out a vile statement on social media that he later walked back and accused an unnamed staffer of posting. The message does not deserve to be repeated, but it was blatantly homophobic.

Sexton's actions as TN House leader are 'derogation of duty' | Letters

As leader of the Tennessee House of Representatives, it is incumbent upon you to lead with a sense of duty and respect for the office. Your actions in stripping all Democrats of their committee assignments is a derogation of that duty. And it is a sign of weakness. As leader of the entire House, you should set the example by which all members should follow. Silencing the other side because it is convenient – and, more specifically, because you have the power – is cowardice.
