More than 2,500 Hawaii residents and 1,000 visitors from Japan are expected for this weekend’s Pan-Pacific Festival. Ho‘olaule‘a performances by Na Hoku Hanohano Award winners Ei Nei and Ka‘imi Hanano‘eau, three days of hula featuring Halau ‘O Napuala‘ikauaika‘iu on the Kuhio Beach Hula Mound, taiko drumming, bon dancing, a Japanese calligraphy workshop, pickleball demonstrations and the gala parade Sunday afternoon on Kalakaua Avenue are all on the schedule this year.
