Officer injured after crash involving police truck in McKeesport Original

MCKEESPORT, Pa. — A police vehicle was involved in a crash in McKeesport on Wednesday. Allegheny County dispatchers said the crash happened at the intersection of 28th and Walnut Streets at 4:28 p.m. Police sources tell Channel’s Chief Investigator Rick Earle that a McKeesport officer was involved in the crash. They were taken to a hospital. Channel 11’s Lauren Talotta saw a McKeesport ambulance and two McKeesport police cruisers arrive at UPMC Mercy.

Former police officer alleges excessive force in lawsuit filed against Plum, Penn Hills

A former police officer has filed a lawsuit against Plum Borough, the Municipality of Penn Hills and three police officers following his arrest last year. Dennis M. Pape, a former Penn Hills police officer, was arrested after a two-vehicle crash on Universal Road in Plum on June 26, 2025. At that time, police said Pape performed a PIT maneuver on another driver who had tried to pass him, causing the crash in an alleged instance of road rage. All charges against Pape were dropped on June 6.

Smoke billows out of church in Mt. Washington Original

PITTSBURGH — Smoke is billowing from a church in Pittsburgh’s Mt. Washington neighborhood. Click here for photos from the scene. Allegheny County dispatchers said they received a call from the intersection of Kearsarge Street and Fetzer Street at 6:05 p.m. on Tuesday. The fire is happening at the former Grandview United Presbyterian Church on the 300 block of Grandview Avenue. Dispatchers said a three-alarm response has been called to the scene. No injuries have been reported at this time.
