Feeding America’s economy: Why agriculture still matters
Each year on National Ag Day, we recognize the farmers, workers, and businesses that provide Americans with the safest, most abundant, and most affordable food supply in the world. But agriculture’s importance extends well beyond what ends up on our plates. It is also one of the strongest engines of the U.S. economy. The latest Feeding the Economy report makes that clear.
Op-ed: Agriculture trade is not a partisan issue -- it's an imperative
For American agriculture, trade is not just policy; it’s an economic necessity. U.S. farmers, ranchers, and workers in the agriculture supply chain depend on global markets to stay competitive, grow their operations, and support millions of jobs across America’s heartland. Approximately 20 percent of all U.S. agriculture production is exported each year, making access to international agriculture markets a cornerstone of economic health.

Opinion: America’s corn farmer thrives on substance, not subsidies
Too often, debates about our food system pit farmers against consumers. But America’s corn farmers and families across the country share the same goals: healthy food, a sustainable environment, and a reliable supply that doesn’t break household budgets. To get there, we need to ground policy in facts – not myths that oversimplify complex challenges.
Opinion: Rural America is counting on President Trump
As President Donald Trump begins his second term in the White House, America’s corn refining industry is eager to support his work toward a more prosperous rural America. The American corn farmer is second to none in productivity and sustainability, regularly leading the world in innovative production practices and the yields that come from their use.

It tells a compelling and, sometimes surprising, story. The Feeding the Economy report provides impact at the national, state and congressional district levels. Opinion: U.S. agriculture is strong but held back by trade barriers
It's an understatement to say that the U.S. food and agriculture industry has faced its fair share of trials over the past few years. Reckless cost and personnel cuts by railroads eroded supply chain infrastructure, a problem made plain by COVID-19 pandemic disruptions and recent rail safety issues. Unreliable foreign suppliers and ocean freight systems were exposed. The war in Ukraine led to the largest commodity crisis since the 1970s.
Stronger rail oversight needed as decaying service threatens food security
The following is an opinion article written by Robb Mackie, president and CEO of the American Bakers Association, and John Bode, president and CEO of the Corn Refiners Association. Mackie and Bode are also the respective chair and vice-chair of the Food and Beverage Issue Alliance. As we enter the third year of the pandemic, new, related impacts keep coming.
Opinion: Agriculture feeds the U.S. economy, but it is at a crossroads
The American agriculture and food industries have always been integral to our country’s collective success – not only putting food on our tables but fueling jobs and opportunities for Americans. The latest economic data underscores these industries’ broad influence and reveals they have largely recovered from the effects of the pandemic.
Indiana’s Economic Future Looks Green
It begins with the state’s powerful past – a proud history of agricultural traditions, in which the state’s farmers have long been responsible stewards of the land, handing it down to future generations. And it builds on another cornerstone of the region – the innovations coming from Indiana institutions like Purdue University. For 150 years, Purdue has delivered advancements to improve both agricultural production and innovation, while developing the people power to realize that potential.
Opinion: Seize a bipartisan bioeconomy agenda
Agri-Pulse thoroughly reported that the recently launched Food and Agriculture Climate Alliance (FACA) brought together organizations representing food retailers, agriculture producers, forest owners, and two leading environmental groups to take an important step in the fight against climate change. At the Corn Refiners Association, we celebrate this effort, but submit that bolder strokes that reach beyond the farmgate can enjoy bipartisan support and yield significantly greater progress.

Why are Superman and Batman against each other?
Because fans love that kind of thing. "Who would win in a fight of X vs. Y" is a perennial favourite discussion topic, especially when X and Y are both good guys and would not normally be opposed, so that there is no canon answer.
coding style - Usage of magic strings/numbers - Programmers Stack Exchange
This is somewhat controversial topic, and I guess there is as many opinions as there are programmers. But for the sake of it, I want to know what are the common practices in business (or in your work places). In my work place we have a strict coding guidelines. One section of that is dedicated to magic strings/numbers. It states (for C#): There are exceptions: the values 0, 1 and null can nearly always be used safely. Very often the values 2 and -1 are OK as well.
