John Wall Barger interviews Shannon Robinson, author of “The Ill-Fitting Skin”
Introduction: Raised in Ottawa, Ontario, Shannon Robinson holds an MFA in fiction from Washington University in St. Louis. Robinson received Nimrod’s Katherine Anne Porter Prize for Fiction, grants from the Elizabeth George Foundation and the Canada Council for the Arts, a Hedgebrook Fellowship, a Sewanee Scholarship, and an Independent Artist Award from the Maryland Arts Council. She teaches at Johns Hopkins University and lives in Baltimore with her husband and son.

Raised in Atlanta, Georgia, Adrienne Su earned a BA from Radcliffe College of Harvard University and an MFA from the University of Virginia. She’s the author of the poetry collections Peach State (2021) (Finalist for 2022 Patterson Poetry Prize), Living Quarters (2015), Having None of It (2009), Sanctuary (2006), and Middle Kingdom (1997). Her poems appear in many anthologies, including five volumes of The Best American Poetry.

INTRODUCTION The use of ultrasonography has been increasing across many specialties, including rheumatology.1,2 Interest in ultrasonography by clinicians, termed point-of-care ultrasound, has risen dramatically; this is attributable to evidence for improved patient safety, more rapid diagnostic assessments, and assistance with procedural guidance.3 Among point-of-care ultrasound modalities, musculoskeletal ultrasound (MSUS) has been of particular interest to rheumatologists.
