How to Build Your Poker Strategy from the Ground Up
How to Build Your Poker Strategy from the Ground Up November 23, 2018 Upswing Poker An article by Geoff Fisk. I rediscovered my passion for poker earlier this year, and I knew I wanted to get back into the game after taking a three-year break. Sit-n-Gos were my specialty in the mid-2010s; I put a lot of time into that poker variant and did pretty well. This time around, however, I wanted build my cash game skills from the ground up, and I started looking into my options for poker education.
Bernard Lee Captures His 2nd WSOPC Gold Ring During Trip to Lake Tahoe
Over the past two weeks, Bernard Lee has chatted with two World Series of Poker Circuit ring winners on his Bernard Lee Poker Show right here on PokerNews. Over the weekend, Lee put aside podcasting and traveled to Lake Tahoe to try and win a ring of his own. Lee, who rose to fame in the 2005 WSOP Main Event when he finished 13th for $400K, did just that by topping a 124-entry field to win the WSOP Circuit Harvey’s Lake Tahoe Event #3: $400 NLH Single Day for $11,456 and his second career ring.

The field will continue to grow with late registration open until the end of Level 9; the first level of Day 2. Norway's Vegard Dahl ended Day 1b with the chip lead, bagging 235,600.

Nigel Blythe-Tinker of VGW Holdings Sees Australia as Industry Leader
It's no surprise that the company that developed social gaming sites Global Poker and Chumba Casino has a strong team of innovators behind it. What many may not know though, is where that core innovation is located, and who is steering the VGW Holdings ship. Executive Chairman of VGW Holdings, Nigel Blythe-Tinker, is a major force in the operations, and he is a big proponent of utilizing key development resources in Australia, where the head company makes its home.

David Peters Leads After Low Turnout in Poker Masters $100K Main Event
After a week of strong high roller action at 2018 Poker Masters at PokerGO Studio in Las Vegas, it seems the appetite for a $100,000 Main Event was a little muted. Fields throughout the week at Poker Masters regularly numbered in the 40s through 60s for events at even the $50,000 price point, but just 15 entries were logged in what proved to be a slow Day 1 of the Main Event. Slow purely in terms of entries, that is.

The second and final day began with 39 hopefuls battling it out for the title. Nine more entrants popped into action before late-registration closed.
Strategies With Different Stack Sizes in Pot-Limit Omaha
If you are a live cash game pot-limit Omaha player, you have probably already noticed that there is no convention or standard for how much players buy in when they first sit down at the table. The last live PLO cash game I played, players could buy in for as little as 40 big blinds or as much as 200 big blinds. Some bought in short, and others bought in for the full amount. And most of the time, the strategy they played was based on the amount for which they had bought in.
Daniel Negreanu's YouTube Channel Soars During WSOP
It's no surprise that YouTube is one of the biggest content sources for top pros. Many of them have been seizing the opportunity to broadcast their daily lives in the 2018 World Series of Poker to increase their channels, using a very successful video format: vlogs. Andrew Neeme, Ben Deach, Phil Galfond and Kristy Arnett are amongst the players who have already joined the YouTube community.

Poker's Triple Crown Mirrors the Sport of Kings
In 2008, Gavin Griffin added a World Poker Tour (WPT) title to his 2004 World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet win and his 2007 European Poker Tour (EPT) victory, and thus was born a new honor in poker: the Triple Crown. Of course, this elite title was not poker’s creation, and in light of Justify becoming the 13th Triple Crown winner in horse racing, we take this opportunity to pay homage to the origins of the term.

The $1,500 Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better will also play down to a winner on Saturday with several big names remaining, including Mike Leah and Jason Lester.
