Louis Vuitton sued The Cordish Companies for distributing handbags featuring its monogram with the “LV” logo replaced by “Live!” Louis Vuitton Malletier filed a federal trademark complaint against PPE Casino Resorts Maryland and The Cordish Companies on June 1 in the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland. The 29-page complaint alleges willful trademark counterfeiting, infringement, false association, dilution, and unfair competition under Maryland common law.

Pennsylvania’s New Skill Games Bill Is the VGT Framework Without the Tax Rate

Pennsylvania’s HB2557 would regulate skill games like VGTs, but leaves the tax rate for a separate bill. The strategy is deliberate. Pennsylvania Rep. Ben Waxman introduced HB2557, the Skill Game Consumer Protection Act, on Monday, which would bring the estimated 80,000 unregulated skill game machines operating across the commonwealth under the oversight of the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board. The bill was referred to the House Gaming Oversight Committee.

Polymarket’s Playbook is Familiar to Those Who Watch the Online Poker Industry

Credit: Sheila Sund/Pxhere Polymarket says it’s cracking down on the use of virtual private networks (VPNs) to access its platform. Taking geocompliance seriously only after having scaled up into a dominant position is reminiscent of the leading company in another gambling vertical: GGPoker. Like GGPoker, Polymarket has grown its business while welcoming VPN access to the product from banned jurisdictions. Also like GGPoker, Polymarket has decided that playing by the rules might be important now.
