Authorities are asking for witnesses to come forward after a man was shot and killed on the 3000 block of Grant Street in an unincorporated area of Riverside County on May 19. Deputies with the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office responded to the shooting around 1 a.m. and found the victim, 47-year-old Corona resident Carlos Villa, unresponsive and suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. 47-year-old Corona resident Carlos Villa was shot to death in Riverside County on May 19, 2026.

Bear euthanized after biting, clawing 2 people in Mammoth Lakes

The California Department of Fish and Wildlife captured and euthanized a bear after it injured two people outside of a home in the Old Mammoth area of Mammoth Lakes Monday morning. The attack happened at about 6 a.m., when a woman rushed to stop a fight between her dog and a 17-month-old black bear weighing roughly 70 pounds, according to the Mammoth Lakes Police Department.
