John Finnerty spent 15 years at the Sunbury Daily Item as a reporter, opinion writer and city editor before setting up shop in the Capitol newsroom in Harrisburg to write for the five newspapers owned by Community Newspapers Holding Inc. in Pennsylvania. In addition to PA politics, coverage interests include natural gas industry, government spending and civil liberties issues.
