I run my own all-service media agency, Ad Hoc Media and Investment Consultancy and offer editorial and PR services to publishing houses and corporate clients, primarily in the financial services sector. I'm currently based in London, but work mainly in Africa and the Emerging Markets. I'm writing my first non-fiction book, on the Fourth Industrial Reveolution with a fund management firm in the US. I am also advising a company seeking a FTSE listing and developing renewable energy projects in sub-Saharan Africa.
Most recently I was Africa Editor at Debtwire, which I joined to build up its African debt market coverage. I wrote about corporate and sovereign loans and bonds, from origination to maturity, through restructure and refinance in the continent of Africa. Debtwire is a subscription-based service for debt origination bankers, sector specialists, lawyers and advisors.
I have been involved in numerous publications launches & redesigns, including The Islamic Globe, a weekly, globally-distributed newspaper on Islamic finance. I have worked for leading publishers in Europe, the Middle East & Africa & written for global investment management firms. I have organized a number of training courses in financial journalism. For non-publishing clients I have drafted press releases, helped compile annual & corporate governance reports, written marketing material, speeches & provided content & edited financial services in-house magazines & client websites.
Before 2004 I worked in the City of London.
I have appeared in the international press, TV and radio providing analysis on economic events for Al Jazeera, the BBC, the FT, Daily Telegraph, Evening Standard, CNBC Africa, the Economist, Times, Yorkshire Post and various specialist finance and energy titles.
