Mitsubishi has issued just 150 US recalls since its 1987 NHTSA debut. Ford filed 153 recall actions last year alone, an all-time industry record. Only eight Mitsubishi recalls have been issued since the start of 2022. Ford owners have started checking NHTSA the way other people check the weather. Anything with a Blue Oval and four wheels seems to qualify these days. That got us wondering about the other end of the table.

Genesis has been exploring a move into the luxury pickup truck space. Our design sketches point to a premium, full-size leaning truck concept. A shared Hyundai platform could serve as the base for this future model. Genesis has steadily evolved from dressed-up Hyundais into a fully fledged lineup of luxury sedans and SUVs, yet one major segment remains untouched: pickup trucks. It is a notable gap for a brand that has otherwise expanded across categories.

New styling brings cleaner lines and light-bar themes. Android-based PLEOS Connect replaces twin screens. Engine options mirror Kia K4 with hybrid available. Hyundai’s Elantra might not be the biggest hitter in its class, yet it does well for the Seoul-based automaker on a global scale. In many markets, it remains one of Hyundai’s most recognizable badges, holding its ground against long-established rivals.
