Shamrock Rovers beat KF Egnatia of Albania by 3-1 in the first leg of their UEFA Europa League third qualifying round tie at Tallaght Stadium, but it could have been so much more had the home side taken their chances in a dominant second-half display.

Shamrock Rovers failed to advance to the third qualifying round of the Champion League and despite winning their second round, second leg qualifier in Tallaght 2-1, it was the Armenian side that went through. Rovers will now play KF Egnatia from Albania next Tuesday in the third qualifying round for the Europa League with the first leg in Tallaght.
