Which 2004 SUV was really built for the trail? We pushed three to the limit
Chris Walton, John Kiewicz Got dirt? Then don't buy a small, car-based, all-wheel-drive sport/utility crossover demi-wagon thingy. Nobody with true trail experience would consider one of them a true 4x4 sport/utility . A rutted, rocky, and off-pavement excursion will leave those four-cylinder pantywaists at the trailhead. This comparison is reserved for rugged conveyances with a low-range transfer case and more than a few inches of ground clearance.

What Made Don Yenko’s Legendary COPO-Powered Chevelles So Great?
From the archives: COPO big-blocks and Yenko tuning pair for the most legendary musclecars of all time. The big solid-lifter camshaft in the 427 V-8 delivers a choppy idle that echoes through the dual exhaust. Will A Legacy GM Manual Trans Work Behind An LS-Style Block?
Q: Can I use a three- or four-speed manual tranny with the new 5.3L LS-style blocks? Do they have the same bellhousing as an older small-block? – S.C. Griffith A: On any LS-type engine (not just the 5.3L), there are two ways to make this work: mechanical clutch linkage or hydraulic linkage. A traditional Chevy V8 bellhousing going all the way back to 1955 more or less bolts up.

The SUV family’s appeal only broadened for 2018, when Lexus added an extended-length RX L model to the roster.

Quick Install: EFI on Any Older Pickup
This is the look of the Chevrolet 383 V-8 engine with the Holley four-barrel carburetor. The engine ran strong and smooth with the 750-cubic-feet-per-minute carburetor, but we wanted more responsiveness, performance and fuel economy. To begin, remove the carburetor, inlet fuel lines and the mechanical fuel pump (if applicable). The EZ-EFI throttle body is aluminum and mounts to any intake manifold that features a common Holley 4150-style square bore opening.
How to Measure for the Correct-Length Driveshaft
The driveshaft is an often overlooked, yet critically important component of a vehicle's drivetrain. Not only must it be strong enough to contend with the engine's output but it must also operate properly during a constantly changing array of driveline angles. Moreover, being that it is rotating incredibly fast, the driveshaft must be in proper alignment with proper balance to avoid harsh vibration during operation.
