About the Book The sheer volume of talk about energy, energy prices, and energy policy on both sides of the political aisle suggests that we must know something about these subjects. But according to Peter Huber and Mark Mills, the things we "know" are mostly myths. They explain why demand will never go down, why most of what we think of as "energy waste" actually benefits us; why more efficient cars, engines, and bulbs will never lower demand, and why energy supply is infinite.

View: A municipal library in Woodstock makes better sense
The Woodstock Public Library will be a stronger and more substantial institution if we all come together and make it our municipal library. Municipal libraries are everywhere in New York State — 197 of them in all 63 counties. By contrast, district libraries like ours — only 54 in total — are found in just 18 of the 63 counties. Only 7 percent of the libraries in New York State are district libraries. I’m proposing that we make the change from district library to municipal library.

This shift is shaping up to be more significant than the previous two because it marks a digital path to understanding the physical world.

Exceptionally Long-Lived Charge Separated State in Zeolitic Imidazolate Framework: Implication for Photocatalytic Applications
Zeolitic imidazolate frameworks (ZIFs) have emerged as a novel class of porous metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) for catalysis application because of their exceptional thermal and chemical stability. Inspired by the broad absorption of ZIF-67 in UV–vis-near IR region, we explored its excited state and charge separation dynamics, properties essential for photocatalytic applications, using optical (OTA) and X-ray transient absorption (XTA) spectroscopy.
