This is in response to the “clip and save” advertisement in the July 8, 2026, issue (page 11) about who to vote for in the upcoming primary election. As an informed precinct committeeman in LD28, I agree with every recommended selection except one. I am voting for Katherine Haley for state treasurer on July 21.

When times are great, leadership can be straight forward — set stretch goals, inspire the team, give them the tools to succeed and get out of their way. A leader can have their team on cruise control and ensure not only that the work is being completed, but that the team shares in the rewards. In this scenario, sales can be a fantastic “cure all” for morale and productivity. The flip side of leadership acumen is the ability to navigate through difficult situations.
