As many of you know there are a lot of really bad drivers out there on our streets and highways. And there are lazy drivers that don’t even bother to use their turn signals when turning or changing lanes. It can be down right dangerous. jdm Speaking of dangerous, it’s getting more and more perilous for the FBI and Secret Service to protect the President.

Purcell residents are going to get a head start on the July 4th holiday with fireworks, food trucks and more planned for Friday June 26. Interim City Manager Bobby Elmore reported at a recent city council meeting that the fireworks display this year will be double what past shows have provided. The Chickasaw Nation’s honor guard will present the colors at 7 p.m. followed by the singing of the National Anthem.

Newly elected Mayor Jay Tate welcomed 30 residents and members of the city staff to a Town Hall meeting at Happy Camper Cafe last Thursday evening. Those in attendance heard the city has 18 wells in the well field east of Lexington with two currently off line. The Purcell water district runs from Sonny’s Cafe north to Johnson Road and west to Sooner Road.
