1. Introduction Many carotid dissections can be treated with traditional carotid stents; however, high cervical and skull base dissections, with or without pseudoaneurysms, are more difficult to treat due to the tortuosity of the carotid artery. This location is difficult to access with traditional carotid stents owing to the relative inflexibility of the carotid stent delivery system.
