Maximising environmental savings from silicon photovoltaics manufacturing to 2035 - Nature Communications
Abstract The silicon photovoltaics market is transitioning from the incumbent passivated emitter rear cell to the higher efficiency tunnel oxide passivated contact technology and it is crucial to understand the environmental impact of this change. Here, we conduct life cycle assessment to compare both technologies quantitatively and identify environmental savings in 15 of 16 environmental impact categories for tunnel oxide passivated contact.
All-fibre-coupled terahertz single-pixel imaging for biomedical applications - Nature Communications
Abstract Real-time, non-invasive imaging techniques are essential for advancing biomedical diagnostics and material analysis, yet existing terahertz (THz) systems often suffer from limited speed, bulky designs, and poor adaptability to in situ environments. Addressing these challenges, we present a fully fibre-coupled THz attenuated total internal reflection single-pixel imaging system, offering a compact, flexible, and robust platform for non-destructive spectroscopy and in vivo imaging.
The Playbook I Used to Launch a Thriving 8-Figure Business — and How You Can Too | Entrepreneur
When I decided to launch a cold plunge company in Italy, I didn't have much to work with — no team, no warehouse and nowhere in my home to shoot product content. But I believed in the product and knew wellness was a booming category. I'd built companies before, including an e-bike brand that hit eight figures in sales. This time, I relied on a lean repeatable system — and it worked. Here's the approach I used to get traction quickly without a massive ad budget or complicated launch strategy.

Tunable Photoluminescence from Monolayer Molybdenum Disulfide
1 Introduction Transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDCs) are an exciting class of 2D materials that exhibit exceptional physical and chemical behavior at monolayer thickness.[1, 2] Molybdenum disulfide (MoS2), a prototypical TMDC, is a leading candidate for inclusion in numerous optoelectronic technologies, owing to its novel optical properties.[3-7] Monolayer MoS2 (1L MoS2) comprises a hexagonal plane of Mo atoms sandwiched between two hexagonally arranged planes of S atoms to yield a S-Mo-S...

Trio of radicals choreographed for versatile chemical reaction
NEWS AND VIEWS 03 April 2024 The idea that three different free radicals could be used together to carry out specific steps in a chemical reaction has long been implausible. A ‘radical sorting’ strategy now achieves this feat to make organic molecules. The formation of carbon–carbon bonds is at the heart of the chemistry used to synthesize pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals and advanced materials. Chemists’ skills in harnessing highly reactive free radicals for this purpose have grown steadily.

The stories of four more process safety legends
Abstract This is the second group of process safety legends that have been selected by the editors of Process Safety Progress (PSP). The first group of process safety legends was reported on in the March 2021 edition of PSP. At that time, the Editorial Board of PSP recommended an article in the journal be dedicated to process safety legends to inspire others working in the field. The editors of PSP decided to continue this recognition of process safety excellence.

What do macroinvertebrate indices measure? Stressor‐specific stream macroinvertebrate indices can be confounded by other stressors
Do episodic events cause lasting changes in biotic index values? Another aspect of biotic indices, which has received less attention than relationships with stressors, is the temporal scale of the biological response. Biological communities are dynamic. The resilience of communities to episodic events both influences the period that is reflected in indices and has important consequences for the response to changes in pressures.

Separating natural from human enhanced methane emissions in headwater streams - Nature Communications
Abstract Headwater streams are natural sources of methane but are suffering severe anthropogenic disturbance, particularly land use change and climate warming. The widespread intensification of agriculture since the 1940s has increased the export of fine sediments from land to streams, but systematic assessment of their effects on stream methane is lacking.
Breast augmentation using autologous fat grating optimised by negative pressure wound therapy
Introduction: The majority of breast augmentation procedures utilise breast implants to achieve enhancement to shape and volume. However, breast augmentation using autologous fat grafting is gaining popularity. The technique permits volume and shape enhancement whilst avoiding the associated complications of breast implants. However, it can be limited by the degree of achievable volume enhancement, the need for multiple fat transfer procedures and the unpredictable nature of grafted fat take.

Which crossbow to choose?
The main criteria that you should rely on when choosing and buying a crossbow are the purpose of the crossbow and the budget. Most often, the crossbow itself accounts for about 80% of all costs, the rest should be spent on arrows , a quiver ("shako") and a case for the crossbow. Now decide what kind of crossbow you want, and for what purposes do you need it? How often will you use it? Are you going to use it only yourself or are you going to let everyone from your friends shoot from it?

Bridge Functionalisation of Bicyclo[1.1.1]pentane Derivatives
Abstract “Escaping from flatland”, by increasing the saturation level and three-dimensionality of drug-like compounds, can enhance their potency, selectivity and pharmacokinetic profile. One approach that has attracted considerable recent attention is the bioisosteric replacement of aromatic rings, internal alkynes and tert-butyl groups with bicyclo[1.1.1]pentane (BCP) units.

P192. Does mastectomy reduce overall survival in early stage breast cancer?
Over the last two decades, several high-quality studies have revolutionised breast cancer treatment, contributing to improvements in breast cancer specific (BCSS) and overall survival (OS). Advances in treatments modalities include hormone manipulation, human epidermal growth factor 2 (HER2) receptor blockade, taxane based chemotherapy and bisphosphonate use. Recently there is a surge in neoadjuvant therapy use, although questions remain as to any benefit with OS.
