I am a writer based in Northampton, Massachusetts. You can reach me at paradisjohn@yahoo.com. I am a former beat reporter for daily newspapers in New England. I enjoy writing about unique people, amazing places and the curious peculiarities of life in our New England region. I am particularly interested in conservation, historical preservation, the impact of the climate crisis on our four seasons, agriculture and the environment. As a military veteran, I also write about the veteran community in New England and about advocacy for veterans and ways to improve the civil-military divide in our country. I am also concerned about current and widening disinformation in our society and the decline of local journalism.
