GREENFIELD — The Stone Soup Cafe hosted the 21st annual Harvest Supper Saturday on the Greenfield Town Common. Ingredients for the farm-to-table feast were grown and donated by more than 50 local farms. Dishes included lamb wraps, turkey peach salad, vegetarian mushroom frittata, roast pork with cabbage kapusta, three sisters salad, kale and beet salad, pesto potato salad, braised cabbage and apple miso salad and more. The feast was made available on a pay-what-you-can basis.

The search for Karen Solomon appears to be ongoing as of Sunday evening, more than five days after her husband, Worcester Police Officer Kurt Solomon, was discovered dead in their home. Karen Solomon, 58, is wanted on a charge of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon in connection with her husband’s death, Worcester Police Chief Paul Saucier said Friday. Officers found Kurt Solomon, 57, dead around 5:40 a.m. on Aug. 18 at the couple’s home on Wildwood Avenue in Worcester.
Springfield preserves vacant land in East Forest Park Original
SPRINGFIELD — The city has agreed to turn a wooded parcel of land on Sumner Avenue into conservation land to protect it from development. The property is located in the East Forest Park neighborhood and is roughly bordered by Hudson and Overland streets and Bairdcrest Road. It measures about 4.25 acres, or 185,656 square feet, and is assessed at $132,000, said Adam Anulewicz, natural resources manager for the city. “We just see it as a natural resource and we want to protect it as such,” he said.

Springfield woman arrested on arson, attempted murder charges after police car chase
Springfield police arrested a 41-year-old woman in connection with three arson investigations following a car chase on Friday, according to police. Aisha Cuffie, of Springfield, is facing 11 charges including three counts of arson and single counts of attempted murder, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and leaving the scene of a crash resulting in personal injury, police said.
